Bontoc, Mt. Province. The incumbent governor running for the congressional slot of Moutnain Province, Maximo B. Dalog, is running with his 8 – point agenda he calls the PRESTIGE campaign. PRESTIGE stands for Peace and order; Reliable-responsive-efficient-and-effective-leadership; Education-Culture-and-Sports; Social-services-health-and-sanitation; Treasury-and-finance; Infrastructure-tourism-and-enhancement-of-commerce-and-industry; Good governance; and Ecology-and-agriculture-development. Dalog devised this campaign and has been running his programs for the province based on these 8 point agenda for years now. He believes that the most important aspects that needed attention were all embraced in the PRESTIGE campaign with additional emphasis on other issues. He does not have to stray from these to stress out his platform because his PRESTIGE campaign has been very effective from the start. During his years as a three termer governor, he was able to go around all the municipalities covered by the province and has seen the most crucial needs of the people and the places, prompting him now to device a strategic plan to cover all of those concerns.
With that in tow, he started implementing it and found it as the most effective, the rest follows everything else. Dalog for now is considered one of the most seasoned politician running for the Congressional seat of Mt. Province. He once served as a Board Member, then Governor and can be said to have reached out to all the municipalities included in his area of responsibility. He has started and completed a number of very good projects and that would include the famed Lang-ay Festival putting the Province into the map of tourism festival hot spots. With all these in mind, Dalog said he hopes to finish those he has not completed yet and to further reform the province given the chance to represent Mountain Province in the House of Representatives.
